Membership Terms and Conditions

Membership is on a rolling basis, and is due for renewal one day before the original membership commenced. HVMN’s online payment facility will retain member payment details and use them to automatically renew membership on the anniversary of the initial membership term commencing, unless the member cancels their membership part-way through the year.

Membership benefits will cease on the anniversary of the original membership being set up if the payment details provided by the member are no longer valid, and have not been updated by the member. Payments are processed automatically on the HVMN website via STRIPE, which will automatically make one attempt to contact the member to obtain up-to-date payment details before membership benefits cease.

Non-members and members whose subscription payments have lapsed are not entitled to attend meetings, be part of HVMN correspondence either from the executive team or from their regional group, take part in any training or seminars both virtual and in-person, have access to the membership area of the website, are not entitled to receive the member discount for attendance at the HVMN Conference and any other benefits of membership as determined by the executive team.

The membership belongs to the individual and not to the organisation or the role they hold. If a member moves to another palliative care setting prior to the anniversary of their membership commencing, they may carry over the membership into their new role, and they will be required to contact HVMN to update their contact details and revised role.

If a member moves out of the palliative care sector completely, their membership will be cancelled on request. HVMN does not normally offer reimbursement of fees part-way through a year. However in exceptional circumstances the executive team will consider reimbursement if an appeal is made to the Membership Secretary. Any such appeals will be considered at the next meeting of the executive team.

It is the member’s responsibility to ensure that membership is paid promptly. Further, it is the member’s responsibility to ensure that any information they provide as part of the membership application process is accurate and complete.

Confirmation of membership will be sent by email to the address supplied by the applicant when payment is received.

An invoice will be generated and sent to the email address supplied. If members register using personal payment details, this invoice can be used to claim back the cost from their employer where this has been agreed.

Members do not have the authority to forward e mails regarding regional meetings to non-members.

All enquiries from non-members should be directed to the Regional Representatives or Membership Secretary.
