While writing this I suddenly realise this will be my last message to members as I will be stepping down from the Chair in November. Words of wisdom? I’m not sure about that but what I can say is that I have thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of chairing HVMN.
The association has gone from strength to strength over the last three years and the future is looking good with a strong executive team in place. Looking ahead to conference, we have interesting and challenging speakers and workshops lined up, I look forward to seeing many of you there.
The extra spending promised to the NHS from the current government is good news, however volunteers will remain as crucial as ever in supporting delivery of care. HVMN will continue to provide inspiration and learning opportunities for current and aspiring Volunteer Services Managers and Leaders. We received excellent feedback from our first newsletter, please keep the comments flowing so that we can shape future issues relevant to your needs and interests.
